The Netherlands Baroque Orchestra is an ensemble founded by members of the "Domcantorij" following a musical tradition that dates back to the 13th century, and performs regularly in concerts throughout Europe. Recent highlights have been London Early Music Festival, Utrecht Early Music Festival, La Folia Festival (Switzerland) ‘Un hivern in Mallorca’ Festival (Spain). The ensemble has also appeared internationally through broadcasts on BBC television and through its ceremonial performances for Queen Beatrix of The Netherlands. The ensemble regularly accompanies the "choir of the Domcantorij," directed by Remco de Graas in the famous "Domkerk" in Utrecht. They have also presented world premiere performances of newly discovered works of Johann Sebastian Bach and his sons in the presence of members of the Bach family.

The orchestra plays on a priceless consort of instruments that was made from wood cut in 1720. The eight violins 3 violas and 2 cellos were made from the timber of an old Swiss cheese factory by master Australian/Dutch violin maker John Godschall Johnson. Ravind Sangha, the orchestras director, was made custodian of the instruments by John Godschall Johnson This is the only orchestra in the world to formed of instruments made by the same maker and designed to produce one homogenous sound as was the custom in the Baroque time.

The Netherlands Baroque Orchestra also performs regularly in the castel of Well in Holland. The castle is a Campus of Emerson College Boston and the Orchestra has been invited to be the resident ensemble there in 2005.
